Gaithersburg Marriott Staff Served Thanksgiving to Firefighters

Being away from family on Thanksgiving was a little easier this year for firefighters at Station #31 in North Potomac, Md., thanks to associates of the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center (Gaithersburg Marriott). Hotel representatives dished out traditional holiday fare especially for 10 of these heroes on November 23.

“We rely on the firefighters at station #31 to keep our guests and associates safe,” says Michele Pajot, general manager at the Gaithersburg Marriott. “Bringing them this special meal and presenting it with holiday flare is one way that we can thank them for the selfless work that they do every day.”

The executive chef and other hotel associates planned and created a special meal for the firefighters, in the midst of the hotel’s own busy holiday season. Firefighters feasted on honey poached turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, pecan, pumpkin and sweet potato pies and other holiday favorites.

Officers in all six of the Montgomery County police districts will be detailed to shopping areas in their districts to provide high visibility, extra security, and to provide reminders about driving and pedestrian safety--especially in parking lots.  Officers will be distributing approximately 5000 bright green reflective and recyclable shopping bags with a driver and pedestrian safety message printed on them.  In some locations these bags will also be distributed by shop owners.
