The second annual race in honor of the late Charles Jess Hull II (CJ) takes place Saturday, August 28 at 9am.
Hull was a former U.S. Marine. He passed away in July of 2008 due to brain cancer.
Hull was passionate about running, and could almost always be spotted wearing a bandana running on the Tow Path. This was one of his favorite places.
In honor of his memory and to celebrate his life, Hull’s family created CJs C&O 5k Run/Walk. This non-profit event is created to honor Hull and others who were taken by cancer and enable the family to raise needed funds to find a cure for this terrible disease while doing something CJ loved to do…..RUN.
A portion of the money earned will go to the Hull Family Trust. The Trust aims to preserve cultural heritage and promote environmental sustainability by empowering communities in developing countries.
