NORTH POTOMAC, Md. (WUSA9) -- One firefighter is injured after a house fire broke out in a North Potomac home Friday afternoon, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue said. 

The fire happened on Turley Drive in the basement of the home, officials said. When crews got to the scene they encountered heavy fire and smoke. 

Firefighters were able to knock out the bulk of the fire. They are checking the rest of the house. 

All occupants were able to get out. 

The injured firefighter is being evaluated.
