POTOMAC, Md. (WUSA9) -- A total of 25 chickens were killed in a chicken coop fire that happened in Potomac late Thursday night.
The fire happened around 11:45 p.m. at Glen Road and Great Elm Rd. in Potomac, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue said. The 10' by 15' chicken coop was fully involved in the fire when crews got to the scene.
A total of 25 chickens were killed in the fire. Officials also said that a 1994 Jeep Cherokee was damaged.
The loss is estimated to be in excess of $10,000. The cause of the origin of fire has not been determined yet.
No other injuries were reported.
