Police Offer Holiday Season Safety Tips

 

The following notice was sent to us by Montgomery County Police: 

 

As the holiday season approaches, and in light of the three recent kidnapping and robbery incidents at the Westfield Wheaton shopping mall, Montgomery County Police would like to offer this comprehensive list of tips to help keep residents safe while shopping, while walking, and while at home.  While opportunities for robberies and burglaries increase during the holiday season, many robberies and burglaries can be prevented by keeping these safety tips in mind.

On Black Friday, millions of shoppers will visit jcpenney stores across the country as they kick-off their holiday shopping. Over 500 deals will be offered including over 150 styles of women’s boots at $19.99 or $29.99 each, an Xersion premium down coat for $39.88 and Nerf, Barbie and Fisher Price toys only $3.99 each.

There will also be doorbusters from 4 a.m. – 1 p.m.

A group of employees from fred, a home repair service, participated in the Potomac Day events in Potomac, Maryland on Saturday, October 22, 2011. An ice cream truck wrapped in fred banners that said, "Follow fred - the first name in home repairs - to get your FREE ICE CREAM" followed the fred employees in the parade. The ice cream truck parked close to the fred booth at the business fair and the fred employees gave away 250 free ice cream confections to the people in the community.

The Shops at Wisconsin Place were transformed Thursday, October 13th as Passport to Style, a one night only fashion show featuring this season's essentials took over.

The show benefitted The Washington Humane Society's Fashion For Paws and Hope for Henry, a non-profit which provides children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses laughter and smiles.

Guests braved the weather and enjoyed wine and gourmet treats while
shopping and saving at the hottest retailers. Additionally, everyone went home with a swag bag of goodies including gift certificates, a Georgetown Cupcake, a Nantucket Fall Getaway and more amazing prizes!
