News, Transportation

The Gazette.net reports that Montgomery County Police are investigating human remains found on the CSX train tracks in the vicinity of 11700 Parklawn Drive. Detectives arrived at the tracks about 6:30 p.m. following a call made to police about an hour earlier.

The location of the remains is just south of where a man killed himself Oct. 13 by walking in front of a train near Randolph Road in North Bethesda, according to county emergency responders.

MARC trains 893, 879, 881, and 895 are being delayed, according to the Maryland Transit Administration. As of 6:15 p.m., there was no estimate of how long the delay would last. Metrorail is honoring MARC tickets. Washington Metro will honor MARC tickets on the Red Line.

Passengers for Silver Spring, Kensington, Garret Park, Rockville, Metropolitan Grove, Germantown, Washington Grove and Gaithersburg are encouraged to use Ride-On Transit, according to the MTA. Visit Ride-On's website for schedule information at http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/rideon.
