Fashion Fights Poverty Celebrates 7th Annual Fashion Gala

Fashion Fights Poverty (FFP), the organization dedicated to raising awareness on the fight against global poverty through the world of fashion, will host its 7th Annual Gala on Saturday, March 31st, 2012  at Artisphere (1101 Wilson Boulevard) in Arlington, Virginia.  Tickets are $75 (General) and $150 (VIP).

Proceeds from this year’s gala will support FFP’s programs, including Woodrow Wilson High Clothing & Textile Program, Fashion Fights Poverty Summer Fashion Camp, Vocational Internship/Mentoring Program, and the Detroit Lives Partnership Project, among others.

Highlighting one of FFP’s core values to dress responsibly, the 2012 Dress Responsibly Gala is FFP’s largest presentation yet.

With production by Violetta Markelou, the gala will feature a fashion show and presentations by some of the most visionary eco/ethical designers today, including Project Runway Season 7 winner, Seth Aaron Henderson; renewable fabric apparel designer, Earthtec; EcoArtFashion founder, Luis Valenzuela; 2011 Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Designers Award recipient, Tara St. James (Study NY); local DC metro area designers, Laura Williams and Ginger Root; NY-based sustainable fabric lingerie designer, Daisy & Elizabeth; LA-based eco-friendly designer, LAVUK; swimwear and NY-based apparel designer, Ashley Zaba; vegan shoes and bag designer Cri-de-Ceour; and animal activist and creator of the "12 in 12 for 12" campaign, Gabby Wild.

This event will be FFP's kick off of its year-long endeavor to alleviate poverty, empower communities and contribute in helping the environment during this year’s 7th annual benefit fashion show.
